Our part of home automation is the windows. Blinds and curtains that open on a schedule, close themselves when the sun hits that side of the house, and answer a voice command or a button on your phone, without anyone walking around pulling cords.
It is worth being clear about where that stops. We supply and install the window coverings and the motors that drive them, and we will talk through how they fit with a system you already run. If your house already has a smart platform, tell us on the measure and we will confirm what works with it rather than assume.
Home Automation in Parnell
Parnell is 25 minutes from our workshop, down towards the waterfront. A mix of character cottages, terraced houses and apartments close to the city.
That shapes what we recommend. We measure the actual windows, look at which way they face and how the room is used, and quote on that rather than on a brochure. If you also want shutters in the same rooms, we can quote both on the one visit.
How it works on your windows
Sunrise, sunset or a set time
The schedule does the daily work: the west blinds close before the room cooks, the bedroom ones open after you are up.

Group the windows in a room so one command moves the lot, instead of six separate remotes.

We come to you in Parnell, measure every opening and talk through the options in the room where they will hang.
Made to measure
Your motorised blinds and curtain tracks are made for your windows, not trimmed down from a standard size.

We fit and adjust them, then check every one works properly before we leave.
Questions we get in Parnell
Do you charge for a measure in Parnell?
No. The in-home measure and quote is free across Parnell, with a minimum of five blinds or coverings, and no obligation. Parnell is 25 minutes from our Manurewa workshop.
Do you do the whole house, or just the windows?
The window coverings: blinds, curtains, the motors and the controls. We are not electricians or security installers, and we will tell you if what you want sits outside that.
Will it work with the system I already have?
Usually there is a way, but it depends on the platform and the motors. Tell us what you run at the measure and we will confirm it rather than guess.
What is the simplest place to start?
One motorised blind on a schedule. That alone fixes the west-facing room that cooks every afternoon, and it is where most people begin.
Does it still work without the internet?
The basics usually do, because the control lives in the motor rather than in the cloud. We will confirm how it behaves for the specific system you choose.
