Sunscreen Blinds New Lynn | Free Measure & Quote

A sunscreen blind is an open-weave fabric: you can see through it, but it takes the sting out of the sun. It is the answer for the big west or north-facing window that turns the living room into an oven at three in the afternoon without making the room dark.

The variable is openness. A more open weave keeps more of the view and cuts less glare; a tighter weave does more work but dulls the outlook. We bring the options so you can look through them at your own view rather than at a sample card.

Sunscreen Blinds in New Lynn

New Lynn is 29 minutes from our workshop, around the New Lynn transport hub and the mall. A mix of older homes and new apartment buildings around the transport hub.

That shapes what we recommend. We measure the actual windows, look at which way they face and how the room is used, and quote on that rather than on a brochure. If you also want shutters in the same rooms, we can quote both on the one visit.

How it works on your windows

The view stays

You see through it, so the room does not close in the way it does behind a solid fabric.

Heat and glare down

The fabric takes the worst of the afternoon sun off the room and off the television.

Daytime privacy

From outside, in daylight, you see far less than you do from inside.

Questions we get in New Lynn

Do you charge for a measure in New Lynn?

No. The in-home measure and quote is free across New Lynn, with a minimum of five blinds or coverings, and no obligation. New Lynn is 29 minutes from our Manurewa workshop.

Is it private at night?

No. In the dark, with a light on inside, a sunscreen blind is see-through from outside. For a bedroom or a bathroom you want a blockout blind or a curtain behind it.

How much heat does it actually stop?

It depends on the openness of the weave and the colour. A tighter, darker fabric does more. We will show you the trade-off against the view rather than quote a number we cannot stand behind.

Sunscreen or tinting?

Tinting stops the heat but you lose the ability to change it and you lose the view at night. A blind can be raised when you want the sun and the outlook.

Do they work on large sliding doors?

Yes, usually as two or three blinds on one headbox so each panel is a manageable width.
