Takanini is 6 minutes from our workshop, on the newer streets off Great South Road. Lots of newer homes with wide sliders and open-plan living.
We measure and quote in the home, room by room, and the blinds are made for your windows rather than trimmed down from a standard size. If you are deciding between a few options, we will bring the fabrics to you and put them against the actual glass.
What we fit in Takanini
Roller blinds
The workhorse: blockout, sunscreen or light filtering, chosen for the room rather than the catalogue.
Roller blinds in Takanini →Shutters
Louvred panels in a fixed frame. Tilt for light, swing open for the view, nothing to tangle.
Shutters in Takanini →Blockout blinds
Darkness at the window for bedrooms and shift workers, not just a darker room.
Blockout blinds in Takanini →Sunscreen blinds
Cut the heat and glare off big glass while keeping the view.
Sunscreen blinds in Takanini →Motorised blinds
For high windows and wide sliders, on a remote, a wall switch or a schedule.
Motorised blinds in Takanini →Home automation
Window coverings that run on sunrise, sunset or a set time, and answer your phone or voice.
Home automation in Takanini →Roman blinds
Soft fabric folds that stack as they lift, for rooms where a roller looks too plain.
Roman blinds in Takanini →Venetian blinds
Horizontal slats you tilt for light. Wipeable, which is why they suit kitchens and rentals.
Venetian blinds in Takanini →Thermal blinds
A layer at the glass to slow heat loss in older, single-glazed rooms.
Thermal blinds in Takanini →Vertical blinds
For wide openings and ranchsliders where you want to walk straight through.
Vertical blinds in Takanini →Motorised curtain tracks
Curtains that open and close on a remote or a switch, on a track built to carry the weight.

Set into the ceiling so the curtains come out of it. A new-build decision, made before the gib.
Recessed curtain tracks in Takanini →Outdoor blinds
Shade for the deck that rolls away, on a heavier weather-rated system.
Outdoor blinds in Takanini →Commercial blinds
For offices, shops and rentals that get used hard, and stay repairable.

Questions we get in Takanini
Do you charge for a measure in Takanini?
No. The in-home measure and quote is free across Takanini, with a minimum of five blinds, and no obligation. Takanini is 6 minutes from our Manurewa workshop.
Which blinds suit Takanini homes?
It follows the glass and the room rather than the suburb. Big sliders and a west aspect usually want a sunscreen fabric; bedrooms want blockout; older single-glazed rooms benefit from a thermal layer; anywhere you cannot reach comfortably is better motorised. We work that out window by window on the measure.
How much do blinds cost in Takanini?
It depends on the window and the fabric, so we quote per opening rather than publishing a price list that will be wrong for half the houses we visit. The measure is free, and the quote is written with each window and option listed, so you can see exactly what each one costs and drop any you do not want.
Do you install as well as supply?
Yes. We measure, the blinds are made for your windows, and the same team installs and adjusts them. We do not hand you a box and a set of brackets.
Do you cover Takanini and the streets around it?
Yes, and the neighbouring suburbs on the same run. 6 minutes from our Manurewa workshop, and we book South Auckland jobs together so we are in the area.
Can you quote the whole house in Takanini?
Yes, and it is usually better value than doing it room by room. One visit, one quote, and the blinds are made together so the fabrics match.
