Curtains do what blinds cannot: soften a room, cover a wide or awkward window, and add a layer of warmth at night. Made to measure, they hang from a track or a rod, and the fabric, heading and lining decide both how they look and how much work they do.
The choices that matter are lining, heading and drop. Blockout for a bedroom, thermal for a cold room, none for a sheer look; wave, pinch pleat or eyelet; to the floor, to the sill or past it. We bring the samples to the measure so you are choosing against your own wall rather than a photo.
Curtains in Mount Wellington
Mount Wellington is 24 minutes from our workshop, off the motorway between Ellerslie and Panmure. Older housing mixed with light industrial, and new townhouses going in.
That shapes what we recommend. We measure the actual windows, look at which way they face and how the room is used, and quote on that rather than on a brochure. If you also want shutters in the same rooms, we can quote both on the one visit.
How it works on your windows
Measured, not estimated
Drop and width are taken in the room, including how the curtain clears the floor and the furniture.

Blockout for sleep, thermal for warmth, or nothing at all for an open, light look.

Questions we get in Mount Wellington
Do you charge for a measure in Mount Wellington?
No. The in-home measure and quote is free across Mount Wellington, with a minimum of five blinds or coverings, and no obligation. Mount Wellington is 24 minutes from our Manurewa workshop.
Do you supply the tracks and rods as well?
Yes. We can fit a new track or rod, or hang curtains on what you already have if it is in good order.
Can you match curtains I already have?
If the fabric is still available, yes. If it is not, we will show you the closest options and be honest about the difference rather than pretend it will pass.
What is the right lining for a bedroom?
Blockout, usually, with a thermal layer if the room is cold. That combination is what actually keeps the light and the heat where you want them.
Do curtains and blinds work together?
Very well. A sunscreen roller with curtains over it gives daytime control and night-time softness, and it is a common setup for us.
