A motorised blind is a roller blind with the motor built into the tube. Nothing extra hangs on the wall: you control it with a remote, a wall switch or a phone, and it can be set to open and close on a schedule.
The real point is the windows you avoid. Anything above head height, behind a couch, over a stairwell or across a wide slider tends to stay exactly where it was left, which means the room never gets the benefit of it. Motorising those windows is what makes them usable.
Motorised Blinds in Pokeno
Pokeno is 28 minutes from our workshop, at the southern edge of Auckland, the last town before the Bombay hills. Much of the housing is new, built as the town has grown, with large joinery and open-plan living.
That shapes what we recommend. We measure the actual windows, look at which way they face and how the room is used, and quote on that rather than on a brochure. If you also want shutters in the same rooms, we can quote both on the one visit.
How it works on your windows
Control where you are
A remote by the door or a switch on the wall, instead of a pole and a stretch.

Open and close at set times, or with sunrise and sunset, so the house looks after itself.

Which one suits depends on the window and the wall. We confirm that on the measure rather than guess.

Measure and quote
We come to you in Pokeno, measure every opening and talk through the options in the room where they will hang.
Made to measure
Your motorised blinds are made for your windows, not trimmed down from a standard size.
Installed
We fit and adjust them, then check every one works properly before we leave.
Questions we get in Pokeno
Do you charge for a measure in Pokeno?
No. The in-home measure and quote is free across Pokeno, with a minimum of five blinds or coverings, and no obligation. Pokeno is 28 minutes from our Manurewa workshop.
Does a motorised blind need an electrician?
Not always. Many run on a rechargeable battery, so there is no wiring and no electrician involved. Where a wired option is the better fit, we will say so and tell you what it involves.
Can I motorise one window and leave the rest manual?
Yes, and that is what most people do: motor on the high or awkward windows, manual everywhere else.
What happens in a power cut?
It depends on the system. On the measure we will show you how that particular blind behaves and how to move it by hand if you ever need to.
Can a blind I already own be motorised?
Sometimes, if the tube and fittings suit it. Often it is a new blind rather than an upgrade, so it is worth deciding before you order.
