A motorised curtain track does the one job curtains are bad at: opening and closing without a fight. The motor sits in the track, the curtains run on it, and a remote or a wall switch moves them.
It earns its keep on long drops, heavy lined curtains, windows behind furniture, and rooms with more than one opening where you would otherwise be walking the length of the wall twice a day. The curtains are made to suit the track, so the two are quoted together.
Motorised Curtain Tracks in Remuera
Remuera is 22 minutes from our workshop, from the village up over the ridge. Big established homes, often renovated, with large rooms and tall joinery.
That shapes what we recommend. We measure the actual windows, look at which way they face and how the room is used, and quote on that rather than on a brochure. If you also want shutters in the same rooms, we can quote both on the one visit.
How it works on your windows
The motor takes the weight
Heavy lined curtains stop being a daily wrestle, which is half the reason people stop closing them at all.

A track that runs properly moves smoothly, so the heading stays tidy instead of getting pulled out of shape.

Where the motor sits and where the switch goes is decided on the measure, around your furniture and your ceiling.

Questions we get in Remuera
Do you charge for a measure in Remuera?
No. The in-home measure and quote is free across Remuera, with a minimum of five blinds or coverings, and no obligation. Remuera is 22 minutes from our Manurewa workshop.
Can my existing curtains be motorised?
Sometimes, depending on the track, the heading and the weight. We will look at what you have and tell you honestly whether a new track is the better spend.
Does it need wiring?
Some tracks are mains powered and some run on battery. Which suits depends on the wall and the ceiling, and we confirm that on the measure.
What about a bay window or a corner?
Bays and corners need a track that follows the shape, and the motor has to suit it. That is a measure-on-site decision, not something to guess at over the phone.
Can it be part of a smart system?
Often, and we will confirm what your system supports before you commit to anything.
